Heavy rains and flooding cause significant damage in Maidan Wardak, Ghazni and Logar

KABUL: Local officials of the Maidan Wardak, Ghazni, and Logar provinces said that heavy rainfall and flooding have resulted in significant financial losses for the residents of the areas.

According to Radio Omid local correspondents this morning the flooding occurred in several districts of the mentioned provinces

The Maidan Wardak provincial press office in a statement said that Narkh, Chak, Saydabad, and Daymirdad districts experienced heavy rainfall and flooding.

According to the statement, rescue teams have been deployed in the districts, moving dozens of families from hazardous areas to safer locations.

Officials from the disaster management authority in Maidan Wardak, Ghazni, and Logar informed local journalists that their teams are working on assessing the financial damages caused by the recent rains and flooding.

As of now, there have been no reports of fatalities resulting from the heavy rains and flooding in the provinces.

This comes after the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority warned on Thursday of the possibility of heavy and catastrophic rains in several provinces of the country.
