KABUL: Following the Pakistani military’s assertion that the recent bombing attack on its soldiers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was supported by India, New Delhi has strongly denied and condemned these claims.
According to Indian media outlet ‘India Today’, the Ministry of External Affairs of India released a statement categorically rejecting Pakistan’s allegations of India’s involvement in the bombing attack on June 28.
The statement from the Indian Ministry of External Affairs reads: “We have seen the official statement from the Pakistani military attempting to hold India responsible for the attack in Waziristan. We strongly reject this statement.”
The Pakistani military had claimed that the deadly bombing attack against its convoy was conducted with the support of India.
The attack was reportedly claimed by a faction of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), led by Hafiz Gul Bahadur.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Asim Munir, who visited Khyber Pakhtunkhwa following the attack, vowed to take revenge on those responsible.
The bombing resulted in the deaths of 13 soldiers and injuries to 10 others.
