KABUL: At least two firefighters have been killed in a deadly shooting in the U.S., Reuters reported this morning.
The attack occurred while several firefighters were combating a wildfire in the “Coeur d’Alene” area of Idaho.
Images released by Reuters show that an armored police vehicle was also targeted during the shooting.
Police officials at the scene reported that the assailant used a “powerful” weapon in the attack.
They stated that the shooter has not yet been subdued and is still engaged in a confrontation with police forces.
The identity of the shooter and the motive behind the attack remain unknown.
Fatal shootings, particularly in densely populated areas, have occurred previously in the U.S., but this incident specifically targeted police personnel.
