KABUL: One week after the U.S. airstrikes targeted three nuclear facilities in Iran, Dr. Sayed Abbas Araghchi, the Iranian Foreign Minister, has described the damage to the Fordow facility as “serious and very extensive.”
According to the state-run news agency ISNA, Araghchi stated today that the injuries inflicted on the Fordow nuclear site were significant and appear that it is unusable.
He noted that no one has precise knowledge of what occurred at the Fordow facility.
He mentioned the need to assess how long it might take to restart operations, or whether it can be restarted at all.
Previously, U.S. President Donald Trump repeatedly asserted that the Iranian nuclear facility at Fordow was completely destroyed in the airstrike.
The Fordow facility, along with the Natanz and Isfahan sites, was targeted by the U.S. airstrikes during the conflict between Israel and Iran.
This facility is constructed several meters underground within mountains.
