KABUL: Shawn Parnell, spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon), recently stated that the events of the Afghanistan and Vietnam wars should not be repeated with U.S. military presence.
According to reports, Parnell made the remarks during a press conference on Wednesday night, stressing that Washington established control over Afghanistan and Vietnam through military intervention, but when withdrawing from both countries, their governing bodies collapsed.
Emphasizing the need for the U.S. to learn from its military experiences in Afghanistan and Vietnam, Parnell highlighted the importance of drawing lessons from these historical events.
Additionally, he announced the formation of a research team to investigate the U.S. military withdrawal from Afghanistan.
