Meeting between U.S. and Israeli Leaders: From Trump’s Nobel Peace nomination to renewed talks with Tehran

KABUL: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House today.

During the meeting, which took place this morning (Tuesday night, Tehran time), Netanyahu announced Tel Aviv’s intention to nominate Trump for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize.

Trump also claimed that renewed and imminent negotiations between the U.S. and Iranian diplomatic teams were on the horizon.

President Trump referenced developments in the Middle East and Iran, stating that “good news is on the way” regarding Palestine.

He further commented on the potential use of large non-nuclear bombs against Iran, expressing hope that it would not come to that. He noted that Iran is seeking negotiations and that its position has significantly changed compared to two weeks ago. “You will soon read about new negotiations with Iran,” he added.

Meanwhile, Netanyahu handed Trump a letter from his country to the Nobel Peace Prize committee regarding Trump’s nomination for the award.

He told Trump, “The whole world is looking to your leadership. There are many opportunities for us in the Middle East. The U.S. and Israel make an extraordinary team and can achieve a lot. Trump is creating peace.”

Netanyahu’s visit to the White House follows a joint military operation by the U.S. and Israel against Iran.
