Minister Muttaqi: Daily expansion of diplomatic relations between Afghanistan and neighboring countries promises a bright future

KABUL: Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated that the daily expansion of diplomatic relations between Afghanistan and neighboring countries heralds a promising future, according to a statement from the ministry today.

He made the remarks during the graduation ceremony of dozens of students from the Institute of Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Minister Muttaqi emphasized that the Islamic Emirate seeks engagement not only with regional countries but also with Western nations, particularly the United States, in terms of political, economic, and diplomatic relations.

He noted Russia’s recent initiative to recognize the Islamic Emirate, the participation of high-level delegations in international conferences and meetings, the exchanges of delegations between countries and Afghanistan, and the effective establishment of diplomatic relations over the past four years as significant indicators of the Islamic Emirate’s effective policies.

He asserted that there has been no threat or danger emanating from Afghanistan to other countries.

Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi described the Islamic Emirate’s policy as one of healthy competition, dialogue, and engagement.

This comes as several regional countries are seeking to expand and enhance their diplomatic relations with Afghanistan following Russia’s recognition of the Islamic Emirate.
