KABUL: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Malé, the capital of the Maldives, to enhance friendly relations between the two countries.
He was warmly welcomed at the airport by President Mohamed Muiz.
Modi announced on his X account that the ties between India and the Maldives will be strengthened further, and this visit will deepen the friendship between the two nations.
Previously, some members of the Maldivian cabinet made remarks against Modi, sparking widespread reactions in India.
In response to these comments, several Indian politicians and sports figures urged the public to avoid traveling to the Maldives for tourism.
