KABUL: The Acting Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Mullah Abdul Manan Omari, met with the Iranian Ambassador, Ali Reza Bigdeli, in Kabul to discuss issues related to refugees and other matters.
During the meeting, Omari spoke about the transfer of skilled Afghan workers to Iran and emphasized the importance of learning from each other’s experiences in labor market studies.
According to a statement from the ministry, he noted, “It is essential to jointly address the problems faced by returning Afghan refugees so that citizens can voluntarily return to their country and be provided with the necessary facilities upon their arrival.”
Ambassador Bigdeli stressed the need for proper arrangements to facilitate the safe transfer of refugees to Afghanistan.
He stated, “The presence of illegal Afghan migrants in the Islamic Republic of Iran has disrupted the Iranian labor market. We are committed to providing the necessary facilities for their safe and better transfer back to Afghanistan.”
The Iranian ambassador also expressed interest in labor force exchange with Afghanistan, indicating that opportunities should be created for Afghan skilled workers in the Iranian labor market and for Iranian skilled workers in Afghanistan.
