KABUL: Hundreds of thousands of Israelis on Sunday protested, calling for an end to the war in Gaza and demanding the release of hostages held by the Islamic Resistance Movement of Hamas.
Protesters stated that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s plan for a complete takeover of Gaza endangers the lives of the remaining 20 hostages.
The largest demonstration took place in Tel Aviv’s “Hostage Square.”
In response, Prime Minister Netanyahu and right-wing Minister Bezalel Smotrich condemned the protests, arguing that such opposition would “strengthen Hamas’s position” and weaken rescue efforts.
