Air Pollution in U.S. causes thousands of deaths and illnesses each year

KABUL: Air pollution caused by oil and gas in the United States leads to premature deaths of more than 90,000 individuals annually.

A new study from University College London and the Stockholm Environment Institute reveals that this pollution results in hundreds of thousands of people suffering from respiratory diseases, with thousands of infants being born prematurely.

Researchers indicate that the most affected populations include Latino, African American, Asian American, and Indigenous communities.

Many cases have been reported in states such as California, Texas, New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.
