KABUL: Rudion Miroshnik, the special envoy of the Russian Foreign Ministry for the Ukraine conflict, has recently stated that attacks from Ukraine have surged following the meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin.
According to the TASS news agency, Miroshnik made the remarks in an interview with the newspaper Izvestia, where he emphasized that after the meeting of the leaders of the White House and the Kremlin on August 15 in Alaska, the number of Ukrainian attacks on Russia increased from 300 per day to 430.
Miroshnik noted that casualties have also risen due to the increased use of drone strikes, with approximately 90% of fatalities resulting from drone attacks.
The Russian diplomat indicated that the purpose behind the escalation of Ukrainian attacks, particularly on civilian targets, is to instill doubt among Russian citizens regarding the military’s ability to protect them.
This comes despite the Alaska meeting concluding without any agreement to end the war or establish a ceasefire in Ukraine.
