Germany calls for investigation into deadly Israeli attack on Nasser Hospital in Gaza

KABUL: Following the deadly Israeli attack on Nasser Hospital in Gaza, the German Foreign Ministry has called for an investigation into the circumstances of the assault.

In a statement on Monday evening, the ministry emphasized the importance of journalists in reflecting the situation in Gaza, noting the deaths of five reporters in the attack and calling for an inquiry regarding this incident.

The statement outlined, “Germany has repeatedly urged the Israeli government to grant access to journalists and provide protection for those operating in Gaza.”

Additionally, Stefan Seibert, the German ambassador to Israel, expressed deep shock and sorrow over the deaths of journalists, aid workers, and other civilians in the attack on Nasser Hospital.

He reiterated the Foreign Ministry’s call for an investigation and for international media access to Gaza to portray the realities of the war.

The airstrike on Nasser Hospital has elicited widespread reactions, reportedly resulting in the deaths of more than 20 people, including five journalists, and injuring dozens more.
