KABUL: Russian President Vladimir Putin has landed in Tianjin, China, for a four-day visit this morning, at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
According to the Russian state-run news agency TASS, President Putin is set to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting, which will be held at the Meijiang Conference and Exhibition Center in Tianjin later today.
Following the SCO meeting, Putin is expected to attend the 80th anniversary celebration of China’s victory in World War II in Beijing.
Previously, leaders from several other countries aligned with China, including North Korea and Iran, have confirmed their attendance at this celebration.
Additionally, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif departed Islamabad yesterday to attend both the SCO meeting and the anniversary festivities in China.
