Trump: Netanyahu’s unilateral decision to attack Qatar is not in interest of U.S. and Israel

KABUL: President Donald Trump in response to Israel’s airstrike in Doha, Qatar, stating that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s unilateral decision to carry out such an attack is not beneficial for Tel Aviv or Washington, Reuters reported this morning.
The attack was a decision made by Netanyahu and not by me, he said, adding that he attempted to inform Qatar through Steve Witkoff to prevent the attack, but it was too late.
Trump stated, “A unilateral bombing inside Qatar, a sovereign nation and a close ally of the United States that is working hard for peace and bravely taking risks, does not advance the goals of Israel or the U.S.”
However, Qatar has rejected Trump’s comments, stating that no communication was made to inform Doha about the impending attack.
Qatari officials indicated that a U.S. official only reached out at the moment explosions were heard in the city.
Some Arab media outlets have reported that the U.S. president condemned the Israeli airstrike on Doha.
