Quadrilateral meeting on Afghanistan held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan

KABUL: Senior diplomats from China, Russia, Iran, and Pakistan held a quadrilateral meeting in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, to discuss Afghanistan.

Yue Xiaoyong, China’s special envoy for Afghanistan, said on Saturday night, that the special representatives from China, Russia, Iran, and Pakistan shared their common perspectives on continuing relations with Afghanistan.

He stated that all participants agreed on the importance of engaging with Afghanistan and assisting in its reconstruction.

This meeting took place on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization consultations regarding Afghanistan.

Additionally, the Chinese envoy mentioned a bilateral meeting with Muhammad Sadiq Khan, his Pakistani counterpart, during the quadrilateral discussions, highlighting the many common points shared between Islamabad and Beijing.
