KABUL: The Office of the High Commission for Addressing Refugee Issues has reported that hundreds of Afghan refugees have been forcibly returned to the country from various routes on Friday, and essential services have been provided to them.
According to the report, a total of 1,168 families, comprising 6,785 individuals, were registered on that day. Of these, 859 families (4,650 individuals) were transferred to safe locations, 1,020 families received cash assistance, and 1,102 individuals were provided with SIM cards.
The Commission noted that these families returned through routes including Herat-Islam Qala, Nimroz-Zaranj, Kandahar-Spin Boldak, Nangarhar-Torkham, and Helmand-Bahramchi.
The report further indicated that returning refugees were offered cash, food, and health services, along with public awareness regarding registration, transfer, assistance, temporary accommodation, and the values of the Islamic system.
