Recognition of Palestine by four major Western countries in one day; Netanyahu enraged

KABUL: The countries of Britain, Canada, Australia, and Portugal have officially announced their recognition of Palestine as an independent state in a single day.
Reuters reported early today, that the actions of these nations have angered Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel, especially given that he has overseen the killing of nearly 70,000 civilians, including women and children, in consecutive bombings in Gaza over the past two years.
The Western countries stated that their recognition of Palestine comes in response to the escalating conflict in Gaza.
This decision adds Britain, Canada, Australia, and Portugal to a list of 140 other countries that recognize Palestine, despite their usual standing as allies of Israel.
Keir Starmer, the Prime Minister of Britain, remarked during the announcement, “The man-made humanitarian crisis in Gaza has reached new depths. The relentless and increasing bombardment of Gaza by Israel, the recent offensive operations, hunger, and destruction are utterly intolerable.”
France is also expected to recognize Palestine today at the United Nations General Assembly.
