Macron to Trump: Killing Hamas leaders is not the solution to Gaza war

KABUL: Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, stated during a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump that killing Hamas leaders is not the solution to ending the Gaza war.

According to the Times of Israel, Macron made these remarks on the evening of Tuesday, during discussions on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.

The French President noted that the number of Hamas fighters remains unchanged despite the deaths of their leaders, indicating that killing leaders of the movement is not a viable solution.

He emphasized the need for a comprehensive political process for Gaza and urged that plans must be made for the post-war future.

During the meeting, President Trump reiterated his support for Israel. Macron’s comments come as France, alongside Saudi Arabia, is promoting a two-state solution between Palestine and Israel at the UN General Assembly.
