KABUL: The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reacted to Donald Trump’s 20-point plan aimed at ending the war in the Gaza Strip.
In a statement released this morning, the ministry expressed support for any initiative that would end the “ongoing genocide and occupation” of Gaza.
At the same time, Iran cautioned against the “dangerous dimensions” of the U.S. President’s plan, highlighting what it described as the “repeated betrayals and sabotage” by the Israeli regime in fulfilling its promises.
According to the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, any decision regarding the proposed plan should belong to the Palestinian people and their resistance.
Iran welcomes any decision related to stopping the “ongoing genocide in Gaza,” the withdrawal of Israeli occupiers from the territory, respect for the self-determination of the Palestinian people, and the entry of humanitarian aid and reconstruction efforts in Gaza.
The statement further emphasized: “Stopping the crimes and genocide in Gaza does not absolve governments and competent international bodies from their responsibility to pursue legal action against the crimes of the Israeli regime. It also called for the identification and prosecution of those responsible for war crimes, genocide, and crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip to end decades of impunity for the Israeli regime.”
The Iranian Ministry expressed hope for providing humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza and announced Iran’s readiness to participate in this process.
Meanwhile, the Hamas movement has responded conditionally to Trump’s peace plan, with this response receiving positive reactions from various countries, including Muslim nations and the West.
