Representatives of China, Iran, and Pakistan on Afghanistan affairs held talks ahead of “Moscow Format” Summit

KABUL: Representatives from China, Pakistan, and Iran have held bilateral meetings regarding Afghanistan ahead of the “Moscow Format” summit.

Mohammad Sadiq Khan, Pakistan’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, in a post on his X on Monday night said that Yu Xiaoyong and Mohammad Reza Bahrami, the special representatives from Iran and China, respectively, discussed the latest developments concerning Afghanistan.

The “Moscow Format” summit is set to take place today in Russia, featuring Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan.

Khan described his meeting with Bahrami as “very good” and his discussion with Yu Xiaoyong as “fruitful.”

The senior diplomats from the three countries emphasized the importance of a coordinated approach to promote lasting peace and stability in the region.

Previously, the special representatives from Pakistan and Russia also met ahead of the Moscow summit to discuss related issues.
