Trump and Carney meet for second time in five months

KABUL: U.S. President Donald Trump and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney have met at the White House.

This marks the second meeting between the two leaders in the past five months, focusing on trade tariffs and the nature of economic relations.

Donald Trump stated that both countries will discuss reducing tariffs and strengthening mutual trade relations; however, he noted that the prospects for signing a new agreement remain limited.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Mark Carney expressed his efforts to normalize and strengthen economic ties with the U.S. to ensure a stable and sustainable trade flow between the two nations.

This comes at a time when relations between the U.S. and Canada are considered among the oldest and closest economic partnerships in the world.

However, in recent years, tensions have arisen multiple times over trade tariffs and import duties.
