KABUL: The U.S. government has recently imposed new sanctions on nearly 100 companies, individuals, and vessels involved in purchasing oil from Iran.
The U.S. Department of the Treasury stated in a statement that these entities had bought millions of barrels of oil from Iran, actions deemed in violation of Washington’s sanctions.
Reports indicate that Iranian oil exports reached their highest levels in September 2025, raising concerns and prompting a response from the U.S.
American officials assert that these sanctions aim to increase pressure on the Tehran government to end its efforts to evade international sanctions.
