KABUL: Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, during his ongoing visit to India stated that the volume of trade between Kabul and New Delhi has reached one billion dollars.
Speaking at the interactive session of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), the Foreign Minister emphasized that peace and stability have been established in Afghanistan, creating favorable conditions for enhancing economic cooperation between Afghanistan and India, the Indian news agency ANI reported on Monday night.
He noted the commencement of activities by several Indian companies in Afghanistan and reiterated Kabul’s intention to further strengthen cooperation with India to solidify economic relations between the two countries.
The report highlighted that Muttaqi emphasized sectors such as health, education, infrastructure, logistics, aviation, agriculture, and banking, stating that the role of FICCI and the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce is crucial in achieving these goals.
Indian traders raised concerns during the session about obstacles in visa issuance and called for an immediate resolution to facilitate smoother trade between Kabul and New Delhi.
It is worth mentioning that Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi is currently in New Delhi on the fifth day of his official visit to India.
