North Korea’s response to Trump’s visit to South Korea; several sea-to-air Missiles launched

KABUL: As U.S. President Donald Trump visits South Korea, North Korean state media report the firing of several sea-to-air missiles.

According to AFP, citing the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), these missile launches occurred just hours before Trump arrived in South Korea.

Reports indicate that the missiles, launched vertically from the sea, flew for two hours in the air.

Pak Jong Chon, a senior military general in North Korea who oversaw the missile launches, described them as a significant achievement in the country’s nuclear capabilities.

He added that the purpose of these missile launches was to reliably assess various offensive and strategic tools and demonstrate their capabilities to “the enemies of North Korea.”

The general emphasized that it is their responsibility to continually strengthen their state of nuclear readiness.

Donald Trump, continuing his Asian tour, is set to arrive in South Korea after Japan, a U.S. ally located next to North Korea, where tensions remain high due to significant disagreements and their hands are on the trigger of the gun.
