KABUL: Following the special directive of the Balkh governor, a committee has distributed emergency aid to 228 families affected by the earthquake in the province.
The press office of the Balkh governor said in a statement on Saturday night, that the aid provided to the families includes eight types of food and non-food items, which were urgently delivered to them.
The governor’s directive specified that priority should be given to families whose homes suffered the most damage.
The committee for earthquake relief, led by the Balkh Ulema Council and with the presence of the deputy governor, was established for this purpose.
Samangan and Balkh are neighboring provinces that have suffered the most damage from the recent 6.3 magnitude earthquake.
