Tajik official: We will not allow opponents of IEA to operate

KABUL: A delegation led by the Deputy Governor of Khatlon Province, Tajikistan, met with Mawlavi Habib Rahman Saheeb, Deputy Governor of Kunduz, and stated that Tajikistan will not allow opponents of the Islamic Emirate to operate.

The Kunduz governor’s press office stated that in the meeting both sides emphasized the importance of expanding bilateral cooperation in trade, combating drug trafficking, and strengthening security.

The Tajik delegation called for closer cooperation between border officials of the two countries to jointly address security challenges in border regions and combat drug trafficking.

On the other hand, Mawlavi Habib Rahman Saheeb pointing to Afghanistan’s economic policies, stated that the Islamic Emirate is serious about strengthening positive and constructive relations with neighboring countries.

He added that, according to the directives of the IEA leader, the cultivation, production, sale, and trafficking of drugs are prohibited in the country, and security forces are actively engaged in protecting borders and preventing smuggling.

Tajikistan is a northern neighbor of Afghanistan, sharing numerous kilometers of border with the provinces of Kunduz, Takhar, and Badakhshan.
