KABUL: According to a United Nations report, 12,062 civilians have been killed or wounded in the Ukraine conflict since the beginning of 2025 (the past 10 months).
In a statement on Wednesday night, the UN noted that a total of 9,112 civilians were killed or wounded in 2024, but this number has surpassed that in just the first ten months of the current year.
Based on UN statistics, since the onset of Russia’s war in Ukraine (February 2022) to the present, 53,606 civilians have been killed or wounded.
The report indicates that 14,534 of this figure are fatalities, while the remainder represents the injured.
This comes amid reports that military casualties on both sides of the conflict are significantly higher, though the latest UN report does not mention military casualties.
