KABUL: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that the country is facing a crucial and challenging decision.
According to Zelensky, Kyiv must choose between firmly standing up for its independence and national rights or securing the American support that Ukraine desperately needs in the current wartime context.
In a speech to his people, he warned that Ukraine might lose Washington’s backing regarding a peace plan. He believes that the current proposal favors Russia and raises concerns for Ukraine’s security.
On the other hand, Russian President Vladimir Putin welcomed the same plan from the U.S., which envisages an end to nearly 4 years of conflict between Moscow and Kyiv.
Putin described this initiative as a positive step, but Ukraine views it as contrary to its national interests.
