Drone strike on a kindergarten in Sudan, claimed 50 lives including 33 children

KABUL: A drone attack by militants in Sudan has resulted in the deaths of at least 50 people, including 33 children, media reported.

Sky News, a Western media outlet, reported on Saturday night, that the drone strike targeted a kindergarten in the South Kordofan region of Sudan.

Additionally, the Sudan Doctors Network has stated that its support teams have come under fire from forces known as the “Rapid Support,” in the city of Kalugi.

The human rights group “Emergency Lawyers” has also reported a third attack near the other two, noting that due to communication outages and lack of information, the exact number of casualties remains unclear.

This group characterized the attacks as a “gross violation of international humanitarian law, including the protection of civilians, particularly children, and essential civilian infrastructure.”

Meanwhile, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has called for an immediate cessation of hostilities by both sides in the conflict. UNICEF emphasized that stopping attacks and hostilities is crucial for delivering humanitarian aid to civilians.
