KABUL: The General Directorate of Olympics, Physical Education, and Sports has announced that a three-member team from the National Golf Federation has left Kabul for Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.
Atal Mashwani, spokesperson for the directorate, stated in a statement on Saturday night, that the purpose of the team’s travel from Afghanistan to Bangladesh is to participate in the 39th Asian Amateur Golf Championship, which will be held in the city of “Kormitola.”
The statement further noted that Ahmad Murtaza Habibyar, Secretary of the Golf Federation, will serve as the team manager, while Noor Ahmad Fazil and Hashmatullah Sarwari will represent Afghanistan as players.
In addition to Afghanistan, athletes from Pakistan, China, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand, India, South Korea, Vietnam, Hong Kong, and Bangladesh will also compete in this championship.
The 39th Asian Amateur Golf Championship is scheduled to take place from December 16 to 19.
