Shooting at university in the U.S. leaves 2 dead, 8 seriously injured

KABUL: As a result of shooting by an armed man on the campus of a university in the U.S. has resulted in at least two fatalities and eight others seriously injured.
The Associated Press reported early today, the shooting occurred at Ivy League Brown University in the city of “Providence,” Rhode Island. The suspect involved in the shooting is currently on the run.
In the aftermath of the attack, extensive security operations continued for hours to apprehend the suspect in the university buildings and surrounding areas.
Witnesses, who are students at the university, reported seeing individuals lying on the ground while rescue personnel were performing life-saving measures. Additionally, helicopters could be seen flying over the scene of the attack.
Medical sources have stated that one victim is in critical condition, six others are seriously injured, and the condition of one remains satisfactory.
This incident has elicited reactions from the governor of Rhode Island and President Donald Trump.
As of now, the motive, nature, and identity of the assailant remain unknown.
The events come amid heightened security measures in the U.S. due to the approaching New Year’s celebrations.
