Indian Prime Minister Modi visits Jordan for two-day trip

KABUL: Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, has arrived in Jordan for a two-day visit at the invitation of King Abdullah II.

The Times of India reported on Monday night, that Modi will be in Jordan on December 15 and 16, engaging in discussions regarding bilateral relations and regional developments with senior officials of the country.

This high-level visit coincides with the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Jordan.

Modi’s visit is expected further to strengthen the ties between New Delhi and Amman. India and Jordan first signed an agreement on diplomatic relations in 1947, with formal relations beginning in 1950.

It is noteworthy that after his visit to Jordan, the Indian Prime Minister is scheduled to travel to Oman and Ethiopia as well.
