KABUL: Qasim and Suleiman Khan, the two sons of imprisoned leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party, Imran Khan, have shared new accounts regarding their father’s situation in prison.
In a recent interview with the program “The World with Yalda Hakim” on Sky News, a British media outlet, they said that since his arrest in 2023 by the Pakistani government, their father has been held in a “death cell” under “psychological torture,” and they have had no contact with him for months.
Qasim stated, “He has been in a cell for over two years, where he is provided with contaminated water, surrounded by inmates who are suffering from hepatitis and are on the verge of dying. The conditions are extremely deplorable, and he is completely deprived of any human contact.”
Meanwhile, Suleiman Khan mentioned that their father is living in “completely substandard” conditions that do not comply with international regulations regarding any type of prisoner.
The statements come as Imran Khan faces arrest by the Pakistani government on corruption charges.
