KABUL: South African police officials have confirmed that a deadly shooting by an armed group has resulted in at least 9 fatalities and 10 injuries.
According to the Associated Press, this morning, the incident took place this morning in a tavern located in the “Bakersdal” township, approximately 46 kilometers west of Johannesburg, the largest city and economic center of South Africa.
Johannesburg police reported that 12 suspects arrived in two vehicles, carried out the attack, and then fled the scene.
A large-scale operation led by the Serious Violent Crimes unit has been launched to apprehend those responsible for this fatal attack.
As of now, no individual or group has claimed responsibility for the shooting.
This incident marks the second similar deadly attack in South Africa within the past three weeks.
