Confirmation of first U.S. attack on Venezuelan territory; a port facility destroyed

KABUL: Donald Trump, the President of the United States, in response to questions from reporters on Monday night, has confirmed that his country conducted its first direct attack on Venezuelan soil, according to CNN.

Based on information obtained by the American network, the attack was carried out by the CIA earlier this month (December) on a port facility along the Venezuelan coast using a drone.

The U.S. President stated, “So we targeted all the boats, and now we’ve hit the area as well. This is where they operate; it no longer exists.”

However, Trump did not specify whether the attack was conducted by U.S. intelligence forces or the military.

It appears that at the time of the attack, which the U.S. government believed was being used by the Venezuelan gang “Train of Aragua” for drug storage, no one was present at the site.

While the U.S. has conducted about 30 attacks on Venezuelan boats in international waters recently, leading to the deaths of 106 people, this is reported to be the first attack inside the country’s territory.
