Officials of Ministry of Information and Culture participate in ‘ISESCO’ virtual meeting

KABUL: A delegation from the Ministry of Information and Culture participated in a scientific online meeting organized by the Islamic Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), the ministry said in a statement today.
The meeting, organized by ISESCO’s Calligraphy and Manuscripts Center under the title “Realities and Aspirations of Islamic Manuscripts in Kazakhstan,” featured Qari Obaidullah Hanif, head of the National Archive, and Mohammad Shafiq Ahmadzai, head of the Ministry of Information and Culture’s Foreign Relations, representing Afghanistan.
The purpose of the meeting was to examine the condition of Islamic manuscripts, discuss ways to protect them, and explore the use of this heritage in contemporary research.
The Ministry noted,” The General Director of ISESCO regarded manuscripts as fundamental components of human historical knowledge and emphasized the need to update catalogs and strengthen scientific collaborations.”
Islamic manuscripts consist of books, treatises, and documents written by scribes before the advent of printing methods.
These manuscripts represent a significant part of the scientific, religious, and cultural heritage of the Islamic world.
