KABUL: Mike Waltz, the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, and Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, reacted to the protests in Iran on the third day of demonstrations, on Tuesday night.
Waltz stated that ‘no repressive regime lasts forever,’ expressing hope that ‘2026 will be the year of a free and democratic Iran.’
In a conversation with NewsMax, Netanyahu remarked on the recent protests in Iran, noting that any changes in the country will come from within.
The responses from leaders in Tel Aviv and Washington come as the protests have entered their third day, reportedly spreading to cities including Tehran, Isfahan, Shiraz, Ahvaz, Kermanshah, and Najafabad.
It has been reported that many shops in these cities have also closed.
The protests were sparked by the increase in the dollar’s value against the national currency and the decline in people’s purchasing power.
Meanwhile, the President of Iran and the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly have called for attention to the protesters’ demands and addressed their concerns.
