Iran, Russia, China, and South Africa conduct joint Naval Military Exercises

KABUL: China, Russia, South Africa, and Iran—close allies and rivals of the U.S., have conducted joint naval exercises on Friday and are set to continue for one week in the waters of South Africa.
According to the New York Post, the drills are conducted under the banner of “BRICS Plus,” with the aim of ensuring maritime transportation security, supporting economic activities at sea, and enhancing operational coordination among member countries.
Reportedly, Egypt and Ethiopia are participating as observers in these exercises.
This joint exercise occurs amid recent tensions, especially following the U.S. and Britain’s seizure of a Russian vessel originating from Venezuela in international waters.
Moreover, the drills come amid escalating tensions between China, Russia, Iran, and the United States.
