Lavrov: U.S. actions fragment global order amid Maduro arrest, Iran tension

KABUL: Sergey Lavrov, the Russian Foreign Minister, has stated that the United States is fragmenting the global order, referencing the arrest of Nicolás Maduro, the President of Venezuela, and ongoing military threats against Iran.

According to a report by Reuters, Lavrov made the comments during a press conference in Moscow, asserting that the entire international order and globalization are being “thrown out” and are on the verge of collapse, with Washington undermining its own credibility by abandoning principles it has promoted for years.

He further stated: “These actions and other behaviors in the international arena indicate the U.S. approach to dismantling, with its own participation, the entire system that has been built over many years.”

This senior Russian diplomat emphasized that the actions of the U.S. demonstrate that it seems increasingly unreliable.

Previously, the Russian Foreign Ministry condemned U.S. military threats against Iran.

Meanwhile, the Chinese Foreign Ministry has also stated its opposition to threats and interference in Iran’s internal affairs.
