Araghchi slams WEF after Davos invitation is revoked

KABUL: Following the revocation of the invitation to the Iranian Foreign Minister at the World Economic Forum in Davos due to alleged handling of Iranian protesters, Dr. Sayed Abbas Araghchi has reacted strongly to the situation.
In a statement posted on X on Monday night, Araghchi claimed that the cancellation of his invitation was based on “lies and political pressure” from the occupying regime of Israel and its justifying networks in the United States.
He accused the World Economic Forum of having “double standards, moral decay, and intellectual bankruptcy.”
He highlighted: “ The bitter irony that Israel’s genocide against Palestinians and the large-scale killing of 71,000 innocent people did not prompt the World Economic Forum to revoke any invitations to Israeli officials. In contrast, Isaac Herzog was reportedly awarded a “prestigious honor” at Davos in early January 2024, even as he faced criminal allegations in Switzerland due to the ongoing genocide in Gaza.”
Araghchi emphasized that the country had no choice but to defend its people against “ISIS-style terrorists” supported by Mossad amid the recent internal developments.
It is noteworthy that the World Economic Forum recently revoked the invitation for Dr. Sayed Abbas Araghchi to participate in its ongoing session in Davos.
