KABUL: Dr. Sayed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, has stated that the country’s armed forces are “on alert” to respond to any “aggression” against Iran in the air or at sea.
In a post on his Iraqchi X on Wednesday evening, he also emphasized that Tehran has always welcomed a “mutually beneficial, just, and fair” nuclear agreement based on equality and free from “coercion, threats, and intimidation.”
The remarks appear to be a response to recent statements by Donald Trump, the U.S. President, who indicated that another U.S. naval fleet is on its way to Iran and that Tehran should reach an agreement with Washington soon.
Araghchi noted, “The valuable lessons we learned from the 12-day war have enabled us to provide responses that are even stronger, faster, and more effective.”
However, he stressed that Iran seeks an agreement with the U.S. that guarantees Tehran’s access to “peaceful nuclear technology.”
While warnings between senior officials of Iran and the U.S. have escalated in recent days, it remains uncertain where these tensions will ultimately lead.
