KABUL: Dr. Sayed Abbas Araghchi, Iranian Foreign Minister, on Sunday night departed for Geneva, Switzerland, to engage in the second round of talks with a U.S. delegation, the Iranian state-run media IRIB reported.
According to the report, the Iranian delegation is expected to meet with the foreign ministers of Switzerland and Oman, the Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), and other officials based in Switzerland during the discussions.
Information released indicates that Araghchi is accompanied by diplomatic and specialized teams for this trip.
The talks between the U.S. and Iranian delegations in Switzerland are being facilitated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Oman.
The first round of discussions between the two sides took place in Muscat, the capital of Oman.
U.S. President Donald Trump previously warned that if talks between Tehran and Washington do not yield results, the White House may resort to military options.
