Seven police officers, including senior officer, killed in armed attack in Northwest Pakistan

KABUL: At least seven Pakistani police officers, including a senior officer, were killed on Tuesday when unidentified gunmen opened fire on their vehicle in northwestern Pakistan, media reports said.
According to a report by Arab News, the attack took place on Tuesday in the Kohat area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Senior police officer Anhar Gul and six of his colleagues were killed after their vehicle came under gunfire near the Shakardara road in Kohat, the report said.
Additional police forces were dispatched to the scene, and an investigation has been launched, according to published details.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi strongly condemned the attack, describing it as “deeply tragic.”
No individual or group has claimed responsibility for the assault so far.
The attack follows another incident a day earlier in the Karak area of the province, where at least three Pakistani security personnel were killed and four others, including two health workers, were wounded in a two-stage assault by armed militants.
