Explosion kills two, injures two police officers in Moscow

KABUL: At least two people, including a police officer, were killed and two other officers injured in an explosion beside a Russian police vehicle in Moscow, U.S. media reported late Tuesday.
According to Fox News, the blast occurred near the Savyolovsky railway station in the Russian capital after a man allegedly planted an explosive device next to a police car. The device detonated, killing the suspect and one police officer and wounding two others.
Russia’s Investigative Committee said preliminary findings indicate the attacker was a 22-year-old man from Udmurtia, a republic within Russia. The motive for the attack remains unclear.
Russian President Vladimir Putin told senior officials that the suspect had reportedly been recruited online, though no further details were provided regarding who may have been behind the recruitment.
The explosion took place on the fourth anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
