Passport issuance resumes at Afghan consulate in Bonn

KABUL: The Afghan Consulate in Bonn, Germany has resumed issuing passports to Afghan citizens residing in Germany.

The consulate announced Wednesday night via a statement posted on X that the passport issuance process has officially resumed, with nearly 4,000 passports currently being printed and distributed to applicants as part of the renewed process.

The consulate said that following the transfer of management of the Afghan Consulate General in Bonn and as a result of its recent efforts, passport services have resumed after a brief suspension.

The development comes after the German government approved the appointment of new diplomats from the Islamic Emirate to assume responsibility for the Afghan Consulate General in Bonn.
