Turkish Envoy: Positive Kabul–Islamabad ties important for Ankara

KABUL: Sadin Ay Yildiz, Turkey’s ambassador to Afghanistan, says positive relations between Kabul and Islamabad are of special importance to Turkey.
According to Afghanistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the envoy made the remarks during a meeting with Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the country’s Foreign Minister.
The two sides discussed recent regional developments as well as the latest round of talks between Afghanistan and Pakistan held in Ürümqi.
Muttaqi called relations with Turkey positive and brotherly, thanking Ankara for its mediation efforts between Kabul and Islamabad.
He added that recent talks with Pakistan have been constructive, expressing hope that minor technical issues will not hinder further progress.
Turkey remains one of Afghanistan’s key partners, maintaining close political, economic, and cultural ties in recent years.
