KABUL: Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, Foreign Minister of Afghanistan, has described harmful and un-Islamic customs as a source of division and resentment in society.
Speaking at a meeting focused on implementing a leadership decree aimed at curbing such practices, he said the continuation of these traditions goes against Islamic teachings, places economic pressure on people, and fuels hatred among communities.
Muttaqi emphasized that moderation and balance are fundamental principles of Islamic life and should be observed in all aspects.
He added that alongside political and economic responsibilities, the government is prioritizing social reform and strengthening Islamic values through practical measures.
Other officials and religious scholars at the meeting also stressed the importance of enforcing the decree.
