KABUL: The International Institute for Central Asia (IICA) and the Center for Strategic Studies of Afghanistan (CSS), affiliated with Afghanistan’s Foreign Ministry, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to begin joint research cooperation.
According to a statement released Tuesday night, the agreement was signed by Javlon Vakhabov, head of the institute, and Abdulhai Qanit, director of the Afghan strategic studies center.
Vakhabov said the agreement creates new opportunities for joint research and strengthens collaboration between experts and researchers from both institutions. He noted that the protocol provides a framework for organizing joint academic events, conducting collaborative research projects, and regularly exchanging research findings and expert analyses.
Qanit described the agreement as a foundation for comprehensive and long-term cooperation between the two research bodies.
Both sides agreed to hold regular meetings focusing on regional security, trade and economic cooperation, transport and logistics, as well as water-related issues.
The International Institute for Central Asia, based in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, is a research institution specializing in regional issues, including politics, security, economics, and regional cooperation.
