According to a statement released Saturday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, the two sides exchanged views on ensuring freedom of navigation in the strategic waterway and advancing diplomatic solutions to regional challenges.
The statement added that both ministers held detailed discussions on prospects for a full cessation of hostilities and stabilizing the military and political situation in the Middle East.
Both parties reaffirmed their readiness to make every effort to facilitate a political and diplomatic process aimed at achieving sustainable agreements and long-term peace in the region.
The phone call follows Araghchi’s recent visit to Moscow, where he met with senior Russian officials to discuss bilateral relations and regional developments.
